Manchester by the Sea (2016)
Together with Fanclub Centrum, every two months we invite a special Amsterdammer to curate a film night. This time, the honor goes to actor Joes Brauers, with whom we will be watching the 2016 Oscar-winning drama 'Manchester by the Sea' by Kenneth Lonergan. 'Manchester by the Sea' tells the story of the Chandler family, a working-class family from Massachusetts. After his older brother Joe (Kyle Chandler) passes away suddenly, Lee (Casey Affleck) is granted guardianship of his nephew (Lucas Hedges). Lee is reminded of a tragic past with his wife Randi (Michelle Williams) in the area where he grew up. Fanclub Centrum is an online platform that highlights all the good that the center of Amsterdam has to offer. For Amsterdammers, by Amsterdammers. At Melkweg, different types of programs, such as concerts, club nights, and films, often take place simultaneously. Please be aware that there may occasionally be noise disturbance from other programs during the screening.
